Bryan Ferry is well known for his attention to sound quality and I believe likes his vinyl too. Certainly all his records still come out on vinyl. Roxy Music records like Avalon and Flesh and Blood sound marvellous and are great to show off your system.
This album, released in 1987...

boys and girls continues Bryan Ferry's search of the romantic. Accompanied by a huge host of musicians Ferry produces a very atmospheric record. Stabs of synthesiser, saxophone, werid percussion and guitar etc. come out at you from everywhere while Ferry sings like a ghost.
The album was released in 1985 and...

So then Bryan Ferry completes his album of Bob Dylan covers and leaves us with, unsurprisingly, a mix of the two.
Bob Dylan is recognised as one of the best singer-songwriters in the world, with the emphasis on the songwriter. His lyrics are peerless, his musicianship and music are renowned. Yet...

Warner have recently put out some very high quality reissues on vinyl and we should be thankful for this.
Others in the series include
Donald Fagen's Morph the cat
Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms (reissue on two discs)
and the soon to be released Red Hot Chilli Peppers's Stadium Arcadium
Of these four, three are...

Formed with the idea of fusing rock and classical music, the sprawling, platinum selling double album, Out of the Blue, is perhaps the pinnacle of that attempt. Driven by Jeff Lynne, the ELO achieved their biggest success with Out of the Blue, the spaceship imagery dovetailing nicely with the Star...

I don't know much about this singer and band. Its a quirky mixture of sonically interesting experimentation and big big choruses. Its mainly guitar and percussion driven but brings in plenty of organ and some Cello to keep things off the beaten track. 'Capital state' is a slightly paranoid ball of...
